See how Mary and Paul Glammed up the outback, in their Country Western Wedding
Mary and Paul transported us and all their friends and families, to a land of cowboy boots, straw chewing, tractor driving and beaming sunflowers in their Country Western Wedding. How lucky did we feel to be invited along on their journey? Incredibly.
It was a no brainer that these two western loving characters would pull off such a unique theme. There were no half hearted efforts here! Peeping out under Mary’s lace dress we caught sight of the most elegant cowboys we have ever seen. Little sunflowers grabbed our attention that were stitched on the back of the guys waistcoats. They were living and breathing their shared love of the country western world.
Paul spends the summer in America, where he works on the farm machinery. For their country western wedding, we saw he brought a little touch of his work along when a HUGE tractor chugged its way into the wedding – we couldn’t miss a photo opportunity! However, the tractor wasn’t the only vehicle hogging the spotlight. They had a classic VW Camper van parked up too, it doesn’t get much more country western than that!
There was a real sense of community at these two’s wedding. The Vicar, of the quaint church of Knodishall that they had chosen, was Mary’s mum Shelia! Though today she had passed her Vicar duties onto their good friend Nick, another Vicar. As the vows were heard, and Mary and Paul walked out of the church with paul waving the marriage certificate over his head like a golden ticket, it was time for the celebrations to continue at another local venue. With only 50 guests, the wedding stayed intimate and cosy!
At Shepards Cottage we saw the Country Western Wedding theme blossom!
I loved the fact that Mary and Paul managed to intertwine a real classic traditional wedding style, such as lots of pure white with fresh crisp dashes of colour. A small country church for the ceremony, and a converted barn for the evening, though everything had a country twist! Their tiered cake had icing flowers, and tiny little cowboy boots sitting on the top which were just too cute to handle. The bouquets consisted of Sunflowers hugged in wildflowers, and some where put in flower pots…which were actually Cowboy boots!
I could list off all of the fantastic things we saw that day, but instead why don’t you see for yourself, in Mary and Paul’s Country Western Wedding Album.
Ceremony – St Lawrence church, Knodishall
